Prepare complete, reviewable groups before transferring files. A consistent local folder and filename pattern makes missing or duplicated exposures easier to spot.
Group the work
- Keep every exposure for one composition together.
- Separate bracket groups from single-exposure reference photographs.
- Preserve the original files in a read-only archive.
Review before transfer
Check that files open, orientations are correct, and each intended composition is present. Remove unrelated personal material from the transfer set.
